Madrid zoo

I recently went Madrid and whilst I was there I visited the zoo. Was not impressed by the zoo as there were filthy enclosures with people throwing food in, animals had bad welfare both mental an physical, also 6 bears which are naturally solitary animals were kept together in a small enclosure while a gibbon which is a social animal was kept on its own In the reptile house one exhibit had 3 bearded dragons I think were all male and they had obviously been fighting a lot due to the nasty wounds all over them. Theres meant to be a European law called the EU zoo directive to prevent this kind of mistreatment to zoo animals yet it still goes on!
